DSCF9889.jpgIt's been a very busy week getting ready for our 125 day trip, but we're finally ready and take off around 9:30am. It's a beautiful sunny day in central Pennsylvania. The daffodils are several inches high and the crocuses are just beginning to bloom; springtime is finally coming to Pennsylvania but we are heading south to Florida.

The drive today is pretty uneventful for the most part til we get to the Carolinas when the sky darkens A LOT! We've been listening to the news about the tornado touching down in Atlanta last night and today the storm front is in the Carolinas. We're driving through North Carolina and the radio interrupts to say there are tornado warnings posted for two counties, but we have no idea if we are anywhere near those two counties. We soon see a sign saying which county we're in and it's not one of the counties under tornado warning. That's good, but the rain and wind are intense at times and we pull off the highway twice since the rain is so heavy it's hard to see the road.

After a long drive we pull into the South of the Border campground around 8pm, set up between the raindrops and call it a day.
